The Birthday Surprise Hello everyone, I’d like to share a little story from earlier this winter. It was my older son’s 8th birthday , right after our India trip in December and like many parents, we were trying to find that balance between joy and meaning. So, we sat him down and said, “This year, we will not have any big party or big gifts because we just came back from India and he already received a lot of gifts there. We will have nice dinner outside, cake and family time instead." He paused. Thought about it. And then, with the innocence only an 8-year-old can have, he nodded. “Okay,” he said. That was it- no fuss, no pleading for toys, just excitement for the celebration ahead. Fast forward to his birthday — We went to a game zone, had a lot of fun there.
